Deep Creek Pottery - create a handmade keepsake

Track and Yaks in Frostburg - with these unique RAIL BIKES you will pedal alongside the Great Allegheny Passage hiking and biking trail along the mountain ridge. Rail biking is not physically strenuous so you can appreciate the spectacular mountain views and railroad history as you coast on by.

 

Geocaching Treasure Hunt - go for a day of hiking and exploring. Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt game using GPS-enabled devices to navigate coordinates and attempt to find the hidden geocache, a hidden container with contents to share. There are about 75 around Deep Creek Lake.

 

The Studio at Marsh Hill - take a crafting or art class and make a keepsake.

 

Simon Pearce Tour - is an upscale glass and crafts place. Watch glassblowers create pieces handmade at the Simon Pearce factory in Oakland.

 

Spruce Forest Artisan Village - a little bit of history, strolling outdoors, and shopping all rolled into one. Visit Penn Alps restaurant and Cornucopia Cafe, to get a bite to eat.

 

Alpaca Acres Farm and Fiber - meet and greet the alpacas, attend one of the family-friendly events, reserve a campfire, and spend some time together enjoying the outdoor farm activities.

 

Discovery Center at Deep Creek Lake State Park - an educational venue with hands-on exhibits that focus on the natural resources of Western Maryland Deep.

 

Creek Lavender Farm - try everything lavender and enjoy the gorgeous field. Pastoral scenery is truly breathtaking. The kids can pick their own bouquet, and you can also visit their farm store that is stocked with lots of lavender-based products.

CHAIRLIFT RIDE at Wisp Resort. Ride the chairlift to the top of the mountain at Wisp for beautiful lake views. When you get to the top, walk to the Adventure Sports Center International and watch whitewater rafters.

Hovatter's Wildlife Zoo - in Kingwood, WV is a great Zoo for the kids. A little bit of a drive but worth the trip.

 

Fallingwater - dramatically sited over a waterfall, Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater is considered the best all-time work of American Architecture, about 1 hour away from the house, in PA.
