The Agenda for a perfect Ladies' Weekend at Chalet Alpenglow:
FRIDAY:
Arrive at Chalet Alpenglow in the afternoon and enjoy the serene setting on the big deck overlooking Wisp mountain and our community pond. Check in is at 4pm. The fully equiped kitchen makes it fun to cook a meal together. No need to bring food, the "Shop N Save Fresh" supermarket is 5 min away and offers everything you need. On the way back, stop at Mc Henry Beverage Shoppe to get some Prosecco and wine to start your ladies weekend with a sparkle.
As an alternative, if you don't want to cook, go to Moonshadow. The restaurant is just 3 min from Chalet Alpenglow and they serve amazing food - fresh, healthy, free of preservatives and additives, locally grown and sustainable. They offer indoor & outdoor dining, delivery & carry-out, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and pescatarian options.
If you are back at Chalet Alpenglow by sunset, make sure you enjoy the beautiful sunset with its many colors and shades from our deck. A great opportunity to take pictures of the group for memories. After dinner, go downstairs in our family room, play a round of pool, darts, or some board games. You can also just relax in our comfy couches and watch a chick flick on our big movie screen or just catch up with your girls. Once it's dark outside enjoy our new clean 8 person hot tub with thousands of stars above you and lights twinkling around you.
Saturday:
Start with a homemade breakfast at Chalet Alpenglow or go to Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, which is just 5 min away in the same shopping center as the supermarket, to enjoy a homestyle breakfast and great baked goods. For a quick bite, stop by the famous Deep Creek coffee shop, Traders Coffee, and enjoy one of their delicious coffees or lattes and a bagel sandwiches, quiches, or pastries.
Depending what you want your weekend to look like, here are some ideas what to do next:
After a good breakfast, start the day with an easy two-mile hike in Swallow Falls State Park. You can hike to three beautiful waterfalls and enjoy the fall colors of the surrunding trees. You can either drive into the official parking area or park
your car in the small parking lot on the left, right before you cross the little bridge. Then start your hike across the street from this parking lot. This way you have the best water access and can dip your feet in the cold water of the Youghiogheny river, if you like to. After this adventure, it might be time for lunch. Either stop at the close by Swallow Falls Country Store for a quick bite or drive to Uno Chicago Grill. It is the perfect location for lunch at the water with a nice inside or outside area.
